In 2004 McKinzie Commercial Real Estate Services identified a 4 acre site located at the corner Meacham & Calloway in the newly emerging NW Bakersfield. We recognized immediately that NW Bakersfield had no Professional Office/Medical located north of Rosedale or west of Calloway. We were about 6 months late in acquiring this site for development as McKinzie Commercial Real Estate Services hadn’t been formed as yet! However, we did the next best thing. We formed and Investment(s) Group and acquired 5 of the 8 free standing buildings and secured tenants, while providing the tenant improvements and the property management through our management company, M&S Property Management.
The Riverlakes Professional Plaza has been and continues to be a “home run!”
Our basis in the purchase of the property has given rise to significant appreciation, while insulating us and our clients from accelerating price increases in the Medical & Professional Office leasing market.
